Teachers can put student-centered learning to use in their classrooms to increase students’ motivation, help students take ownership over their learning, and build strong relationships. Three ways to think about the role of teachers in student-led classrooms: resources, mentors, and guides. This training will help teachers into present themselves more as the guide on side instead of the sage on stage. It includes many videos, articles, and student led parent conferences with actual vides of students leading the conferences. Teachers will take away the knowledge of how student choice with their guidance can support students into success.
This training will take place from October 10th through November 18th but is work-at-your-own-pace. Participants will be emailed the training via a PowerPoint and will be expected to complete tasks and submit via email to Barb Preston for feedback. Directions will be included in confirmation emails.
