The changes this book outlines might be controversial – adjusting any system that has been in place for centuries will cause tension – but we owe it to our students to make sure grades accurately communicate their progress and help them to improve. It is time to use research to boldly move forward and better serve our students.

Participants will be responsible for obtaining the book – On Your Mark: Challenging the Conventions of Grading and Reporting (A book for K-12 assessment policies and practices) 1st Edition by Thomas Guskey. You can find this book on Amazon for roughly $16. Educators are not required to buy a paperback if they prefer e-books or audiobooks.

If participants complete the book study, they can earn up to 3 professional development hours.  Participants will be required to read the text and answer reflection questions at the end of the book study. Directions will be sent to all participants who register.
