Educators will experience a multi-day introduction to an agricultural based curriculum by examining the agrisicience industry first hand. Topics include marketing, production, processing, food science, and horticulture. Participants will examine and discuss curricular resources, experiments, and agriculture topics with connections to Next Generation Science Standards for application in the classroom.
The course consists of workshops, in-depth question and answer sessions, tours of various agribusinesses involved in all facets of agriculture, easily replicated hands-on experiences, as well as presentations by local and state non-formal educators from commodity groups, environmental interests and Agriculture in the Classroom representatives.
This is a FOUR-DAY event – June 4, 5, 6, and 7th from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Participants are eligible to receive up to 32 hours of Professional Development Hours.
