Are you up to date? Join Alyssa Castleman, Office of the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, School Resource Officer Erica Roa and Lieutenant Brett Compton, both of the Charleston Police Department to learn more.
Ms. Castleman will begin the morning with an overview of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) program that assists state and local law enforcement agencies in developing an effective response to technology facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children. She will also discuss topics covered in the Digital Safety presentation that they offer as assemblies for school districts.
School Resource Officer Roa and Lieutenant Compton will discuss A.L.I.C.E concepts: when to run, hide, or fight, the advantages of an options based response, the human body’s response to a survival stress incident, and how to use Recognition Primed Decision Making for survival, prevention strategies, and the law enforcement-school district team mindset. In addition, this team will discuss vaping and other current drug trends along with detection.
