This workshop and its attendees will focus on engaging students in the middle and high school English Language Arts classrooms. The workshop will center on three main areas: student engagement, incorporating YA lit into classrooms, and integrating technology. As students have more and more access to technology, teachers are struggling with providing engaging learning opportunities in our classrooms. In order to truly engage our students, they need the space for choice and voice in the books they read, and this can be done through YA literature. Throughout this session, attendees will leave with lesson ideas, strategies, tips, tricks, and tools to better meet the needs of our students.
