The implementation of Standards-Based education coupled with the inclination to retain traditional grades as a report of student growth has caused confusion and concern. This workshop will clarify for teachers the impact of using traditional “grades” to report student learning and discuss strategies to involve parents and community in the move to standards-based grading.
This session will cover separating behavior grading from assessment, levels of proficiency versus grades, implement standards-based grading in the community, and involving parents.
